Bosch MED17.5.21 — a direct-injection petrol ECU on the TriCore core. The flash is encrypted and RSA-signed; the calibration checksums are recalculated separately after tuning.
This unit is found on petrol vehicles Audi, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen (2008–2017) — a total of 10 models, among them Audi A3, Volkswagen Golf GTI, Skoda Octavia vRS, Seat Leon Cupra, Audi A4, Audi A5, with power output of 160–265 hp
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 (210 → 280 hp / 280 → 380 Nm), Stage 2 (с downpipe + intake — 320 hp), Stage 3 (большая турбина K04/IS38 — 380+ hp), Pop & Bang / Crackle map, Launch control activation, Speed limiter off, Lambda removal (катализатор off), DSG DQ250 software, Map switching (multi-map), Throttle response improvement: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
