Bosch EDC17C46 — a Common Rail diesel ECU built on the Infineon TriCore core. Firmware protection combines a software calibration CRC and a cryptographic signature (RSA/CVN) over the CFG and CAL areas; after editing, these sums must be recalculated or the unit will reject the file.

Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 (200-220 hp / 380-420 Nm для 2.0 TDI), DPF off (физическое удаление + калибровка), EGR off (закрытие клапана + удаление DTC), AdBlue/SCR off (для 2.0 TDI с AdBlue), Flap off (вихревые заслонки), Lambda off (NOx сенсор off), Hot start fix (Common-Rail инжекторы), DTC removal (P0299/P2002/P00C8), Speed limiter off (vmax), Torque monitor off: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
