Bosch EDC17CP02 — a Common Rail diesel ECU built on the Infineon TriCore core. Firmware protection combines a software calibration CRC and a cryptographic signature (RSA/CVN) over the CFG and CAL areas; after editing, these sums must be recalculated or the unit will reject the file.
This unit is found on дизельных vehicles BMW (2007–2010) — a total of 6 models, among them BMW 1-Series, BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series, BMW X1, BMW X3.
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF off, EGR off, AdBlue/SCR off, DTC removal, Flap off, Lambda off, Speed limiter off, Torque monitor off, Hot start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
