Bosch EDC17C53 IROM TC1767 KIA/HYUNDAI checksum recalculation

Bosch EDC17C53 — a Common Rail diesel ECU built on the Infineon TriCore core. Firmware protection combines a software calibration CRC and a cryptographic signature (RSA/CVN) over the CFG and CAL areas; after editing, these sums must be recalculated or the unit will reject the file.

Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 1.6 CRDi (128 → 160 hp / 260 → 320 Nm), Stage 1 2.0 CRDi (184 → 220 hp / 392 → 460 Nm), DPF off (физический + калибровочный), EGR off, Glow plug timing fix (CRDi холодный старт), DTC removal (P0420 / P2002 / P0299), Hot start fix, Speed limiter off, Cold start enrichment: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
