Bosch EDC17C50 — a Common Rail diesel ECU built on the Infineon TriCore core. Firmware protection combines a software calibration CRC and a cryptographic signature (RSA/CVN) over the CFG and CAL areas; after editing, these sums must be recalculated or the unit will reject the file.
This unit is found on дизельных vehicles BMW (2008–2019) — a total of 9 models, among them BMW 320d, BMW 325d, BMW 330d, BMW 520d, BMW 530d, BMW X3 xDrive30d, with power output of 184–381 hp
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 320d (184 → 220 hp / 380 → 470 Nm), Stage 1 530d (258 → 310 hp / 560 → 670 Nm), Stage 2 (с downpipe — 530d 350 hp), Stage 3 (hybrid turbo — N57 400+ hp), AdBlue/SCR off (для post-2014 моделей), DPF off (физический + калибровочный), EGR off, Swirl flap off, DTC removal (P2002/P0299/P1AAF), Speed limiter off, Torque monitor delete (для Stage 2+), Hot start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
