Bosch EDC16UC40 — a previous-generation Common Rail diesel ECU (ST10/MPC core). Its checksums are simpler than the EDC17, but when maps are edited they must be recalculated across several areas at once.

Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF off, EGR off, AdBlue/SCR off, DTC removal, Flap off, Lambda off, Speed limiter off, Torque monitor off, Hot start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
