Bosch EDC16U31 — a previous-generation Common Rail diesel ECU (ST10/MPC core). Its checksums are simpler than the EDC17, but when maps are edited they must be recalculated across several areas at once.
This unit is found on дизельных vehicles Audi, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen (2003–2009) — a total of 27 models, among them Audi A4, Seat Alhambra, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen California, Audi A6, Seat Altea.
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF off, EGR off, AdBlue/SCR off, DTC removal, Flap off, Lambda off, Speed limiter off, Torque monitor off, Hot start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
