Bosch EDC16C35 — a previous-generation Common Rail diesel ECU (ST10/MPC core). Its checksums are simpler than the EDC17, but when maps are edited they must be recalculated across several areas at once.
This unit is found on diesel vehicles BMW, Mini (2004–2009) — a total of 13 models, among them BMW 1-Series, Mini Cooper D, BMW 3-Series, BMW 5-Series, BMW X3, BMW X5.
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1, Stage 2, DPF off, EGR off, AdBlue/SCR off, DTC removal, Flap off, Lambda off, Speed limiter off, Torque monitor off, Hot start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
Other checksum plugins from the same manufacturer — open any of them to recalculate the checksum.
