Bosch EDC17CP44 — a Common Rail diesel ECU built on the Infineon TriCore core. Firmware protection combines a software calibration CRC and a cryptographic signature (RSA/CVN) over the CFG and CAL areas; after editing, these sums must be recalculated or the unit will reject the file.

Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 150 hp (150 → 195 hp / 320 → 410 Nm), Stage 1 184 hp (184 → 230 hp / 380 → 450 Nm), Stage 2 (с downpipe — 250 hp), AdBlue/SCR off (для пост-2016 моделей), DPF off (физический + калибровочный), EGR off, Flap off (swirl flaps), NOx sensor delete, DTC removal (P0299/P204F/P2002), Hot start fix, Throttle response, Speed limiter off: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
