BOSCH 2 calculators
EDC17 / MED17 / MEDC17
TriCore — CS1/CS2 + CRC16. EEPROM 32–256 KB. CS recalculated only in changed blocks.
MDG1 — MD1 / MG1
TC298 / SPC5777 PowerPC, dFlash. EEPROM 512 / 768 KB. Descriptor table + CRC32.
How it works
From choosing a family to a ready dump — in a couple of clicks
Select an ECU family
EDC17 / MED17 / MEDC17 or MDG1 (MD1/MG1) — open the calculator you need.
Upload Ori and Mod
The original and edited EEPROM dumps of the same length — drop both files into the calculator.
Get the ready file
CS is recalculated only in changed blocks, the rest stays byte-for-byte. Apply and download in the portal for €20.
Frequently asked questions
Answers to common EEPROM CS questions
What is EEPROM CS?
The EEPROM in Bosch units stores the VIN, immobilizer data, counters and adaptations. This data is protected by checksums. If you change even a byte and don't recalculate the CS, the unit will reject the EEPROM (the car won't start or errors will appear).
What this tool does
The tool compares the original (Ori) and edited (Mod) EEPROM dumps and recalculates checksums only in the blocks that changed. Unchanged blocks stay byte-for-byte intact — this rules out EEPROM corruption. The result is a dump ready to write.
Supported ECUs and formats
- Bosch EDC17 / MED17 / MEDC17 / ME17 / MEV17 / MEVD17 (TriCore)
- Bosch MDG1 — MD1 / MG1 (TC298TP, SPC5777 PowerPC, dFlash)
- EEPROM file sizes: 32–256 KB (EDC17), 512/768 KB (MDG1)
Typical use cases
- EEPROM replacement / data transfer between units
- Writing a new VIN or immobilizer data
- Reset or edit counters, mileage and adaptations
- Any EEPROM edit that requires correct checksums
Which ECUs are supported?
Bosch EDC17, MED17, MEDC17, ME17, MEV17, MEVD17 (TriCore) и MDG1 — MD1/MG1 (TC298, SPC5777).
Will this damage the EEPROM?
No. The tool compares Ori and Mod and recalculates checksums only in changed blocks; untouched blocks stay byte-for-byte.
