Siemens (Continental) SIMOS — a VAG-platform petrol ECU (TFSI/TSI). Protection consists of an immobiliser flag and a calibration checksum (MapHash) — after tuning, the checksum must be restored.

Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1 (220 → 280 hp / 350 → 400 Nm), Stage 2 (с downpipe + intake — 320 hp), Pop & Bang / Crackle (Siemens map structure), Launch control activation, Speed limiter off, Lambda removal, Cold start delete, Throttle response (e-gas adjustment), Map switching support: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
