Continental SIMOS — a VAG-platform petrol ECU (TFSI/TSI). Protection consists of an immobiliser flag and a calibration checksum (MapHash) — after tuning, the checksum must be restored.
This unit is found on petrol vehicles Audi, Skoda, Volkswagen (2008–2020) — a total of 4 models, among them Audi A4, Volkswagen Golf, Skoda Octavia, Volkswagen Tiguan, with power output of 150–211 hp
Recalculation is needed after any calibration edit — Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Pop & Bang / decat, Launch control, Speed limiter off, OPF/GPF off, Lambda off, DTC removal, Cold start fix: the checksum no longer matches, and the ECU throws an error or refuses the firmware.
Upload the modified file (MOD) and the original (ORI) — the tool compares them, finds the affected regions and recalculates only the required checksums, leaving the rest of the calibration untouched. The result is ready in a second and free; downloading the fixed .bin requires registration in the portal.
Other checksum plugins from the same manufacturer — open any of them to recalculate the checksum.
